4th of July Metric Ride

Presented by the Joliet Bicycle Club, Inc.

Starting Location and Route:
Enjoy a bicycle tour on one of three rural routes (30, 45 and 62 miles), offering low traffic volume with mostly flatlands. The three routes start and finish at Plainfield High School South on the southeast corner of Ridge Rd. and Caton Farm Rd. in Plainfield, IL.

  Directions:

Take I-80 to Ridge Road (Exit No.122).  Go north on Ridge Road 7 miles to Plainfield SOUTH High School, located at the southeast corner of Caton Farm Road and Ridge Road

Rest Stops:
We have rest stops approximately every 15 miles.  These stops serve many varieties of fruit, bagels, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, cookies, drinks and much more, to help fuel the riders.  Watermelon will be provided at the end of the ride at Plainfield South High School.

Marked Routes, Cue Sheets & Sag Wagons:
The routes will be clearly marked and each rider will receive a cue sheet at the registration table. Sag wagons will  patrol the route until 4 PM to assist you if your bike should break down.
